As a class, you will be creating a Wiki Space using information gathered from the Library of Congress which analyzes the events leading up to and following the dropping of the Atomic Bomb in 1945. You will be split into five groups with five members each. Each group will be responsible for one aspect of this historical incident:
- arguments for nuclear bombs
- arguments against nuclear bombs
- the dropping of the atomic bombs in Japan
- the after-effects of the dropping of the bombs
- an exploration of Japanese literature with regards to the bombs
Each group is responsible for creating the structure and content of the Wiki in their assigned area. This Wiki will be used as a tool for research and also for formulating individual opinions on the bomb. After the wiki has been completed, students will use the information contained on it to formulate an argument for or against the necessity of dropping the two bombs on Japanese cities and have a class debate.
